The Fifth Khan Seyit Fights Karadole
The fifth khan Seyit was the only son of Kenenim. He began to engage in his father’s expedition even when he was a nine-year-old boy. He directed tens of thousands of troops in the battlefield, performing many meritorious deeds in war. His father was quite strict with him. In addition to practising martial arts, he read classical works at his study all day long. He was reciting recondite scriptures on one day when his mother dashed into the study.
She told her son that the khan was about to go on an expedition in the near future. She did know the reason why her husband decided to go out to battle this time. “My dear child, I am worrying about that. Can you ask your father who his rival is for this time?” Chinikei said to his son.
Seyit fully understood what his mother was thinking about. He walked to his father’s yurt instantly. At that moment, Kenenim already put his feet in the stirrups, getting ready for the imminent punitive expedition.
“My respected father. Why are you ablaze with anger? What kind of rebels will you fight against? Why do you set off on your journey alone this time without taking me and other warriors as usual?” asked Seyit.
“Oh, My honey. A villain named Karadole is living about three-month ride away from here. The brutal villain not only robs local business people of their belongings but also eats the hearts and livers of human beings every day.

I cannot put up with his atrocities any more. So I decide to capture him alive
as soon as possible,” Kenenim said.
After knowing his father’s motive of going on such a punitive expedition,
the 14-year-old hero who was used to a life of fighting and incessant marches
pledged to perform such a touchy duty for his father.
However, Kenenim turned down his son’s offer. “You are just like a fledgling.
How can you wind up such a tough task smoothly? To be quite honest, it is
ill-judged to let you campaign up and down the grassland,” he added.
However, the young hero did not take what his father said for granted. He
grinned:
“Oh, my kind-hearted father!
Just let me pour out what I am thinking about!
Manas, my great-great-grandfather,
fought battles throughout the length and breadth of the country at the age of
twelve.
Semetei, my great-grandfather,
was best known for punishing traitors at the age of twelve.
Seitek, my grandfather,
was widely acclaimed as a hero who killed formidable foes and seized back
the throne at the age of twelve.
My dear dad,
conquered tens of thousands of enemy troops at the age of nine.
I am fourteen years old at present.
How can you still regard me as a tender seedling in the garden!
I cannot turn into a real man without going on an expedition!
I cannot turn into an invincible hero without engaging in a fight!
Dear Daddy! Just allow me to take your place!
Just allow me to kill the terrible satan!
My old father, I am a grown-up right now.
I am an offspring of Manas.
I swear not to sully the reputation of my ancestors!”
Although Seyit launched into a brilliant tirade before his father, the khan
still refused the young hero to set off on the trip. However, the khan’s dissuasion

seemed to strengthen the resolve of the 14-year-old hero. Fortunately, the young hero cudgeled one’s brains to think of a good idea. He used all the force he can muster to tightly hold his father’s waist in his arms.
Kenenim was flabbergasted all at once. He had never expected that his son was so brawny. In terms of his past experience, the strength of the young man would smash the stones easily. The khan was quite happy with the healthy growth of his son. By his standard, his son was as strong as a fiece lion or a firece tiger. No other warriors could challenge him. For the first time in his life, the khan came to realize that it was time for 14-year-old hero to press ahead with the Manas’ campaign for Kyrgyz people’s rejuvenation.
Kenenim agreed to let his son to set off on the trip alone in the end. “You will meet with a formidable foe this time, my dear son. You should make the best of your wisdom in addition to your courage and strength if you want to defeat the adversary. You shouldn’t take the formidable enemy lightly, show mercy to him, do harm to ordinary people, have an itching palm or lust after women,” the khan advised repeatedly. In addition, he gave his son a roadmap in case the young hero would get lost in the barren area. “Best wishes to you for your success, my child!” Kenenim said to his son while helping the young hero mount his horse.
After learning that the young hero was about to go on an expedition, numerous Kyrgyz people swarmed into the imperial palace to see him off. They raised their hands and prayed to the soul of Manas to bless the young hero.
Clad in the suit of iron armor, Seyit looked as majestic as the towering Mount Tianshan. Such a range of weapons as the long spear, crescent-shaped axe, iron hammer, large bow and silver arrows added enticement to the handsome young hero. Kenenim gained vicarious pleasure from watching people hailing his son with cheerful voices.
Seyit and his horse spent a total of three months before gettign to the lakeside covered with a blanket of green grass.
At first, the young hero was totally intoxicated with the natural beauty because the lakeside was home to a lot of wildlife, fruit trees and flowers.
Just at that moment, the figure of a man burst upon his sight. By means of a unique hunting skill, the guy caught three wild ducks at one blow. Seyit spurred his horse to the unknown hunter all at once.

From the conversation with the hunter, Seyit learned that his name was
Gitlebai. The lakeside abundant in game and resources was celebrated as a land
of milk and honey in the eyes of locals. It was the territory of Sooraimart Khan
originally. Later on, it was seized by a villain named Karadole who fattened
himself by milking the common people dry. The villain’s wife was a vicious
