第62章 Kenenim Rids...(2)

But the old fisherman rid himself of these terrible fears, saying: “I haven’t

caught any fish. So I can’t pay tax today!”

Such a categorical answer of the old fisherman offended the guard at a stroke.

“How dare you disobey the law of the khan?” the guard threatened. Then he

jumped on the old fisherman, trying to tie the old man with a rope. When the

guard was in the act of binding the old fisherman, Kenenim tightly held his rope

and told the guard off for his atrocities.

However, the guard still raised his whip and hit the old fisherman violently

in spite of the warning look of Kenenim. The cruel guard seemed to give full

vent to his rage by means of bludgeoning at random.

The righteous hero reached the end of his forbearance. He gave a kick to

the cruel guard who fell down to the ground at once. Kenenim trod the guard

under foot while the old fisherman knocked the living daylights out of the

villain. Only after the guard begged for mercy did they set him free.

The guard ran back to the yurt of Kirsleighty all in a fluster, reporting what

had happened to his master.

An old chieftain in the imperial palace of Kirsleighty sympathized with

the suffering of the old fisherman. Furthermore, he showed great esteem to

Kenenim and his ancestors. He called on Kenenim secretly and encouraged

the young khan to challenge the vicious despot. “I hope you will put out the

fire of life of Kirsleighty as a strong wind of wrath does,” he said.

Legend of Manas

As soon as the greedy khan heard the name of the young hero, he kept

trembling out of terror. “How will the tragedy befall me? How can my life be

ruined overnight?” he kept murmuring to himself.

Even before the tyrant could compose oneself, the young hero already

made it to the gate of the imperial palace after a short while in order to teach

him a lesson.

A desperate fight broke out in the grassland.

All the people oppressed by the tyrannical rule for a long time prayed for

Kenenim to defeat and kill the tyrant.

The desperate fight lasted for a total of half a month but neither side could

win.

After a fifteen-day truce, the decisive battle resumed again. While the

tyrant fought the young hero, an idea occurred to him. The tyrant pretended

to cough and shake his body violently in order to distract the rival’s mind

from fight. “What the hell is the bad guy doing?” Kenenim was dazed for a

short while. Unfortunately, the young hero’s absent-mindedness presented a

rare chance to the adversary. The greedy khan made a hack at the head of the

young hero with his axe.

Kenenim sustained a serious injury with his clothes splattered with blood.

As a magical horse familiar with human feelings, Kenkura carried its master

on its back and traversed a broad river before rushing into a dense forest. The

magical horse applied a kind of herbal medicine to the wound of the young

hero in order to staunch the flow of blood. Kenenim came to his senses at the

daybreak. In order to keep the old couple from the tyrant’s retaliation, the

young hero went back to the place of them despite the great pain and escorted

them to an island for shelter.

After seeing the young hero’s horse leaving the battlefield in a hurry, the greedy

tyrant thought by mistake that he had already got the final victory. “After defeating

Kenenim, I can be crowned as the invincible king of kings all over the world,” the

tyrant laughed boisterously.

However, his joy did not last long. Kenenim recovered from his injury and

went back to the battlefield only one month later.

The fierce fight went on for another fifteen days. In order to defeat the

greedy tyrant, the young hero prayed to the soul of Manas to help him. All

of a sudden, a mysterious sight loomed before the eyes of all the bystanders.

Legend of Manas

A boy clad in red clothes ushered a magical horse out of the clouds. Crowded by a total of forty valiant warriors waving spears and swords, Manas with an awe-inspiring look was seen riding on horseback. Almost at the same time, the young hero was bathed in a beam of light from the head of Manas who stood guard over him. Such a beam of mysterious light boosted the strength and courage of the young hero immediately. Kenenim lifted Kirsleighty and flung him onto a jagged rock on the mountain slope.

The greedy tyrant was at his last gasp. “Does any of you want to beg for mercy for him?” Kenenim asked the bystanders around them in a loud voice.

“Kill him! Kill him! Kill the artful scoundrel!” all the bystanders replied in rage.

In such a way, the invincible young hero killed the greedy tyrant at last. He succeeded in ridding the people of an evil.

Kenenim was nicknamed “God of Death with a Yellow Face” later on. As an unparalleled khan of unusual strength, he made friends with magical fish and birds. He held sway among all the warriors in the grassland for a long time.
