the sharpshooter lodged in his forehead. In such an unimaginable way the senior hero lost his life because of his carelessness. Chubak dashed towards the remains of him out of unrestrained sorrow. Fortunately, he succeeded in taking back the corpse. The Kyrgyz warriors vowed to bury the senior hero in his home village. Instead of puncturing the confidence, the death of companions incited the morale of Chubak and other Kyrgyz warriors greatly. All of them rushed back into the crowds immediately with a sense of outrage. All the warriors fought side by side, bearing the brunt of Qalmaq soldiers’ attacks. By and by, the morale of enemies started to be shaken with almost all the Qalmaq servicemen retreating in terror. Kyrgyz warriors appeared to upstage the hostile forces and already put the war situation under control. Just at that moment, a belligerent Khitan general called Neskara tried to challenge Kyrgyz warriors. Chubak stopped Almambet from fighting the cracy guy at once. “Please go back, sir. Let me teach the guy a lesson now. If I die on the spot, you’d better keep my remains for the funeral. I am a bit of a boor speaking bluntly. Please don’t mind if I hurt you before,” Chubak said.
Almambet interrupted him, saying: “Don’t say that please. As you know, we have become intimate friends up to now. I am willing to let bygones be bygones. Please don’t dwell on the past too much. I won’t be indifferent to you until my death. But who is supposed to take care of my own corpse if I die? Just let me fight the crazy guy first. As a Khitan person, I would like to do something good for Kyrgyz people. I hope my Kyrgyz friends will hold a funeral in honor of what I did for them. I hope they will realize my dignity while speaking highly of me.”
However, Chubak still persisted in going out to fight the enemy in a frenzy of indignation. Finally, Bakai consented to his request. Before riding out to fight the hostile general, Chubak turned back to bid farewell to the Khitan prince once again. The sad but stirring departure struck the chord with the heart of the Khitan prince who could not help shedding tears.
As a widely-acclaimed valorous general, Chubak struck two ferocious hostile generals down to the ground successively. But he was knocked down from his horse by a hostile general called Tungkonai. Unfortunately, his helmet dropped down and his head was pierced by an arrow. Chubak fell to the ground and died without a groan. Before Tungkonai moved towards at the top speed with a view to cutting off the dead warrior’s head, Almambet

shot an arrow at the hostile general with great fury. The sharp arrow lodged in the body of the savage general instantly. The impact of the shot arrow of the Khitan prince hurled Tungkonai onto his nose violently. Such a tragic death of an intimate friend set the Khitan prince to lose his intellect for the time being. If he could contemplate killing the sharpshooter in time, the subsequent tragedies would be prevented. Unfortunately, the Khitan prince did not do so. Instead, he did his best to take back the corpse of Chubak. However, his efforts fell by the wayside when Konurbai snatched the hero’s corpse and ran away. Konurbai was in the act of cutting off the head of Chubak when the dead hero’s horse caught sight of the what was going on. The horse galloped at full speed towards the warlord. Konurbai had no time to pull back his sword and cut off the horse head by mistake. The beloved and faithful steed kept its master’s corpse from being badly mutilated. In addition, it presented a rare chance to Almambet for another try to grab the hero’s corpse. Almambet struck Konurbai down his horse and then was ready to take the corpse of Chubak back into his barracks. However, the Khitan prince’s horse stumbled at such a critical moment although it once kept galloping without a halt for six months. The Khitan prince’s helmet tilted a bit due to the loss of balance. Before Almambet could set his tilted helmet upright, an arrow penetrated his temple all of a sudden. However, the Khitan prince went on riding towards the barracks regardless of the intense pains.
The Khitan prince was extremely weak after going back to the barracks. “You are a genuine national hero, Manas. And what you did would go down in history. I believe you can use your gun to kill Shipshiayidar. Please say your prayers before loading your gun with bullets. The enemies will become much more fierce tomorrow. And they are supposed to sweep towards us in a total of twelve different contingents tomorrow. You’d better make the best of your unrivaled power of magic and clairvoyance to root out every part of the battlefield if you wish to find him. You have to keep in mind that he and other five guys will stand in front of a bonfire. A man’s rage is usually likened to a devil whereas the reason his friend. He can make it only by changing the reason into wisdom. If you shoot Shipshiayidar, all the enemies will flee away in a fluster. If you miss the target, the enemies would swallow all the Kyrgyz warriors as a monster did. You should go back to your home to treat your wounds as soon as the fighting was over. I hope the miracle will happen

and you can recover from your wounds. Please don’t let others know where I was buried. It was a pity that my child hasn’t seen his father, let alone got the love from his father,” Almambet said in a low voice. The voice of the Khitan prince became weaker and weaker. Finally, the hero passed away with great regrets. Manas tightly embraced the corpse of the brother who shared the same mother’s milk with him out of sorrow, weeping in buckets. At the same time, he felt remorse for his recklessness. “My dear brother, I should be blamed for not accepting your suggestions. Today’s dreadful consequence can be avoided if I comply with your suggestions,” Manas murmured.
