西山白雪三城戍，南浦清江万里桥。
海内风尘诸弟隔，天涯涕泪一身遥。
惟将迟暮供多病，未有涓埃答圣朝。
跨马出郊时极目，不堪人事日萧条。
A View over the Open Country
Du Fu
Around the snow-crowned West Mountain three fortified cities stand；
The Wanli Bridge spans o’er the river passing the southern land.
The chaos of war causes me from my younger brothers to part；
At the end of the world I shed my tears with a lonely heart.
I can only spend my remaining life coping with illness
And doing nothing in requital of the royal kindness.
Riding to the suburbs， I at times cast my eyes far away
And can’t help grieving for state affairs getting worse day by day.
