Attitudes Towards Success

Anonymous

It doesn' t matter where you are coming from. All that matters is where you are going.

Your decision to be, have and do something out of ordinary entails facing difficulties that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else.

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

Those people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their work and to their lives will be the movers and shakers in our society for the indefinite future.

The more you seek security, the less of it you have. But the more you seek opportunity, the more likely it is that you will achieve the security that you desire.

Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, "What' s in it for me?"

All successful people, men and women, are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work everyday toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

ordinary [':dinri] adj.

Now electrical appliances have entered into ordinary families.

acquire ['kwai] v.

How did he acquire his wealth?

opportunity [,p'tju:niti] n.

Don' t miss this opportunity; it may never come again.

distant ['distnt] adj.

That was a distant memory.

Your decision to be, have and do something out of ordinary entails facing difficulties that are out of the ordinary as well.

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

Choosing Words to Create Success

Annette Colby

Did you know that you can increase your ability to be successful by consciously choosing the right words? It' s true! Let' s say you' re motivated, excited even, to create change in your life. You' ve even gone so far as to put your well-formed goals down in writing. From there, you' ve determined your first steps to begin the process of changing your eating habits and exercising more. You' ve got enormous enthusiasm and know exactly what it is you' re going to do. You choose your goal for tomorrow, and then inadvertently cripple your success before you even start. You say, "I' ll try."

What does "I' ll try" mean? It means you' ve given yourself an out. Should some obstacle surface, you now have a built-in escape route that gets you off the hook. The word presupposes failure. It lacks intention and confidence. You are sowing doubt in your own mind. It says, “Alright, I' ll give it a go, but I can' t really see it working out.”
